Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh

An adult male tiger aged about six to seven years was found dead near the Mala forest range of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh. The incident has brought attention to the ecological features of the reserve.

Dominant Vegetation	Sal woodland comprises about 76 percent of the reserve area with dense natural regeneration.
Grassland Species	Grass meadows comprise species such as Saccharum, Sclerostachya, Imperata, Themeda, Bothriochloa, Vetiveria, Apluda, Dichanthium, Digitaria and Cyperus.
Major Fauna	Provides habitat for species including tiger, swamp deer, Bengal florican, hog deer and leopard.
