India–Slovakia Ties Elevated to Comprehensive Partnership

Prime Minister pays the first-ever state visit by an Indian PM to Slovakia since Slovakia’s independence in 1993. India and Slovakia elevate bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Partnership and sign multiple MoUs covering defence, technology, mobility, and other cooperation areas.

Regional groupings referenced	India and Slovakia give emphasis on aligning with Central European regional groupings: Slavkov 3, Visegrad 4 (V4), and the 3 Seas Initiative.
Visegrad Group (V4)	V4 is formed in 1991, comprises Poland, Hungary, Czechia, and Slovakia, and promotes military, economic, and energy cooperation.
Slavkov 3	Slavkov 3 is established in 2015, comprises Austria, Czechia, and Slovakia, and complements the V4 by focusing on labor markets, transportation, infrastructure, and socio-economic integration.
3 Seas Initiative (3SI)	3SI is launched in 2016, is a platform of 13 EU states between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas, and bridges the infrastructure and economic gap between member countries.
