The Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) recommends in-principle approval for diversion of forest land for the Kirthai-II hydroelectric project in Jammu and Kashmir. Kirthai-II is the third hydroelectric project planned on the Chenab to receive approvals since the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, after Sawalkote and Dulhasti-II projects.
