Japan Restarts Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station

Japan restarts the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant in Niigata Prefecture. The plant is shutdown after the 2011 tsunami that triggered a severe accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, rated Level 7 on the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale.
